An oldie but a goodie!
I used to watch The Muppets when I was little and this song has been around for many years. Seeing as you are making puppets with Mrs Pieterse next week I thought this funny video from when I was your age might give you some inspiration! From Miss Baker

Making a hungry hen!

Aren't the clever cats reading group clever?? Today they had to read instructions on how to make a hungry hen out of their junior journal and then work through all the steps to make it! They did a great job and their hens look wonderful!
Logan's fab Fiji fun!

Lucky Logan has just spent 2 fantastic weeks in Fiji! As homework he had to keep a diary of what he got up to each day and he shared that with the class when he came back to school yesterday. Well done on putting lots of detail in your stories Logan (and Mummy too!), we are all very jealous of your wonderful holiday! Click on the picture to make it bigger so you can read the stories.
Well done Faatimah!
Well done to Faatimah for earning the excellence award at assembly this week! This is for her positive attitude towards school and learning - such a great thing to have!
Some of our latest Kings and Queens!

Here are some of our fantastic Kings and Queens of LZ6 over the past few weeks. They do a great job in the classroom and look fantastic in their crown on the throne.

Place value fun!

We have been learning about place value in maths lately and have been having lots of fun with making big numbers in bundles of 10s and 1s, playing place value bingo, adding and subtracting BIG numbers, finding online activities and playing traffic lights. We now know HEAPS about place value which is good because that is useful number knowledge!
E Papa rakau
As part of our celebration of Matariki we were learning a rakau (stick game) to the music E Papa and decided to show it at assembly. This video is us performing last Friday in front of the whole school!

Snow the guinea pig!

Lucky LZ6 has had a cute furry visitor this week - Snow the guinea pig! We have all enjoyed observing him and having cuddles with his bright eyes and twitchy nose peaking out of the towel. Thanks Ezara for letting us borrow him for a few days!

Get well soon Vivian!
We are missing Vivian at school as she has been off for a week with a broken leg! Poor Vivian was injured by a car when crossing the road and has a heavy plaster cast from the knee down which is making it hard to get around. She will be getting a new cast this week and so hopefully will be back at school soon! A timely message for all to take special care when crossing the road so that this does not happen to anyone else!

The Mighty Mice and the 3 little pigs!
This week the Mighty Mice reading group have been working with Mr V and one of their books was 'The 3 little pigs'. They performed a play of the story in front of LZ6 and LZ5. They had to work hard to try and get into character and use actions to make their performance interesting. The sound is a little quiet so listen up!
Jackson's fan!
Jackson brought in this fan that he made at home to show us for news. He showed us how when you complete the circuit by touching the correct wires the fan will turn around. Well done Jackson, you are an amazing scientist!
The Clever Cats show their skills!
As part of reading this week the Clever Cats had an instructional piece on how to make a rocking horse card. We thought it would be cool to try it out so we did! We had to read very carefully to know what to do! Did we manage to make them? Check out the photos and see.
