A couple of weeks ago we held our school cross country. It was a great afternoon and we were blessed with fine weather unlike last year! All of LZ7 tried their very best and enjoyed the run. Congratulations to Kaylin who was the winner of the year 2 girls!
Congratulations to Jessica K for getting our latest excellence award at assembly! You have worked so hard on your writing skills and are one of our top writers in class! I love the way you use lots of interesting language in your stories including adjectives and similies! Keep up the great work!
We had a wonderful day celebrating the Olympic Games at MHP. The day started with an opening ceremony parade where each Learning Zone shared the team they had been supporting and learning about. We had Norway so had made Norweigan viking helmets, swords and shields to wear! After morning tea it was time for the games to begin! We were split into teams of mixed year groups and rotated around 20 different activities for the rest of the day. We got to have fun doing running races, soccer skills, throwing rubber chickens, playing tug of war and moonhoppers just to name a few! At each station the teacher would record in our team book who had shown the Olympic values the best and real medals were given out to the top 3 for the school at assembly that week. What a cool day!
As part of our learning about fractions, we decided to make fraction penguin pictures. We had to create all the body parts from fractions of a circle including halves, quarters and eighths. It was a fun way to help us learn! We think our fraction penguins are pretty cool!
Well done to Tanya for winning the Excellence Award for LZ7 at assembly this week! Tanya earned her certificate for her wonderfully positive attitude towards learning and always working so hard in class. Tanya, you are a great role model for others in LZ7 - keep up the awesome work!
The 2012 Olympic Games are well underway and last week we were given a team to support and also learn about. LZ7 has Norway so we are starting to learn a little bit about the country as well as their Olympic team! Watch this space to see what we do!
Well done to both Teagan and Andre for receiving certificates at our school assembly this week. Teagan was awarded our class excellence award for her fantastic effort in all areas and her wonderful helping skills. Andre got his award from EMA and was for being their star student for term 2 and doing amazing things in soccer. Way to go you two!
Last week we celebrated the end of two terms of learning by having a 'family feast' where we invited parents along to a meal that we had made as a class. The meal was the end product of our learning around the concept of "From Field to Table". Here is the slideshow that we shared on the night.
Wow! Today we had an awesome morning because we ate ice cream. Yesterday we made the ice cream. The ingredients were vanilla, eggs, bowls, chocolate chips, cream and chocolate syrup. Miss Cooper and Miss Baker helped us put the delicious ice cream in our bowls. Our ice cream was way way better than Tip Top's. Tip Top's was yummy but our one was creamy, delicious, scrumptious and yummy! That's how good our one is. We are going to make our own dinner with our family. We are going to make heaps and heaps and we are going to have the broccoli, parsnip, carrots and beans for our dinner too.

We had the beater to mix it. The beater felt like an earthquake. The ingredients were eggs and chocolate chips, vanilla and cream too. The ice cream was so delicious I wanted to shove it all in my mouth!
Wow! It was the best day ever! How did we make ice cream? We made ice cream in the staffroom. It was better than Tip Top's. We put chocolate chips in it. We made vanilla ice cream. We put in chocolate syrup. The beater shook like an earthquake. I liked licked the container. It was better than my favourite food. My tummy was rumbling for more!
Wow! We ate creamy ice cream today. After jump jam we ate delicious, white creamy ice cream. Yesterday we made it. Mrs Bassano helped us, she did the egg yolk. She put them separate. We put in sugar, cream and the eggs then mixed it with an electric beater. The electric beater shook our arms.
Wow! What a day to make ice cream. It was better than Tip Top's! We had eggs, vanilla, chocolate chips, cream and the electric beater. The beater felt like it was shaking crazily. We were in the staffroom and then we went back to LZ7. Today we ate it. It tasted like chocolate. It was yum yum in my tum!

Scrumptious, scrumptious ice cream! Best school day ever! We ate it with excitement! We made it with love! So how did we make it? We used eggs, a beater, vanilla and cream. Wow, I almost forgot two more ingredients - the ingredients that made the ice cream delicious! Chocolate chips and last but not least chocolate sauce! It was so delicious that all the teachers want some!

It was so yummy it made my tummy happy. We made it in the staffroom yesterday. Mrs Vohra wanted some ice cream too. We made it with a thing called an electric beater and a blender. The blender was shaking and I thought my arm would break!
