All Blacks are world champions!

After a long and hard battle it is finally official - the All Blacks are once again champions of the world! LZ6 is right behind the boys in black and are very proud of this amazing victory!

Fruit shoot addition game!

Hi guys! Here is another great game that you can play during the holidays (or during term!) - you squash the fruit with the number that matches the equation...the faster you go, the more points you get. It makes a great splat sound as well!! Give it a try by clicking on the image above.

Ten thousand page views!!!

We are celebrating our blog statistics once again because we have hit TEN THOUSAND pageviews!! This is very exciting for us as our blog only started this year! Thank you to all the people who have come to visit and look at all our blog posts - we appreciate all the interest in our exciting class! We will have to think of an exciting way to celebrate once the holidays are over!

Holiday spelling games!

Just in case you need a new game to practise your spelling in the holidays - try this website! It is from one of our blog buddies- The Pirates of Room 4! You can either choose from one of the pre made lists or make your own custom list by adding your own spelling words. Give it a try by clicking on the picture!

Board game day!

We have been learning about toys and games - both old and new - and on the last week of term we could bring our favourite board games to school to share with our class and LZ5! It was lots of fun learning because we had to talk about and demonstrate how to play our game and then we all took turns playing all the different games in both classes!

Marli is supporting the All Blacks!!

As you can see Marli has got her outfit ready for the game of NZ vs Argentina! GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!

Kitten visit!

We were very lucky today to have 2 kitten visitors in LZ6!! Miss Lee brought her two kittens called Jelly and Mao to show us. Jelly was a burmese and he was a bluey grey brown colour. He was very friendly and loved to get pats. Mao was a girl and she had a fluffy white tail. She had one blue eye and one green eye! She was a little bit shy and liked to find hiding places like under Miss Baker's chair! Thanks Miss Lee for sharing your cute kittens with us!

Happy birthday Jed!

Happy birthday for Sunday Jed! Thanks for sharing your celebration with us...especially those incredibly delicious cookies that mum made!! Hope you have a great day!

Maui slows the sun artwork!

Here is a sneak preview of our latest artwork - the sun from the Maui legend "Maui slows the sun". We worked hard to make our art very detailed and because we didn't have tiny enough brushes we used cotton buds to colour in our work with dye. It took a LONG time!! When it was all coloured we then went over some bits with bleach which took the colour out and made the work "pop!" Close up pictures coming soon...watch this space!

Happy birthday Diyana!

Happy birthday Diyana!! Thank you for sharing your celebration with us today - the chocolate cake that mum made was delicious! I hope it was a great day for you!
And here is a sneak peek at Diyana's new baby brother Ali - he joined us for the birthday celebrations this afternoon as well. Isn't he cute?

We have 2 diary winners again this week...and both have been up here already! Shows how good their diary entries are getting! Congratulations to Jenna and Nikail for fantastic writing and presentation! Nikail, I laughed out loud when I saw your comment about missing chops! Keep up the great writing you two!

Look at Kashvi looking amazing in her Bollywood dance outfit! You did an excellent job dancing with your group in front of over 300 people and I am really proud of you Kashvi!

Bollywood night!!

On Friday night it was 'Bollywood Night' at school with performers from both MHP and MHJC as well as professional singers and musicians. The MHP bollywood group has been working with Mrs Shetty during ACE time and our very own Kashvi is part of the group! Here is their performance on Friday night in the theatre.

Jackson's winning short story!

As promised here is Jackson's winning entry in the year 1&2 short story competition! The judges comments were "I like the overall feel good factor of this story and some of the interesting words used like 'fire coloured UFO ship' - they create a picture in my head". Great job Jackson!!

Way to go Jackson!!

We are very excited and proud of Jackson because he won the year 1 and year 2 short story competition at the school library this week! He won a fantastic dinosaur book and some special treats to eat. The stories are on display in the library for everyone to read and when we get a copy we will put it up here on the blog as well. Way to go Jackson!!

Diary winner this week is...Diyana!

I know that we did not send the diaries home this last week as I was not at school but I still read through the entries that had already been written. I choose Diyana to be the winner this week as I loved the personal voice she used in her pancake story. I agree that pancakes are delicious and it made me hungry to eat some! Well done Diyana, keep up the great work!

I spy fun in LZ6!

Over the past few weeks we have been reading I spy books and playing I spy games online. These photos are from the 'I Spy Treasure Hunt' game where we had to be pirates and follow clues on a map. We liked playing I spy so much that we decided to make our own I spy pictures! We collected things from home and around the classroom and took a photo of them and then choose objects in it for people to find. Miss Baker helped us make up the rhyme and we have posted them all on the blog for people to try! Just click on the image to make it bigger.

I spy by Vivian!
