Look what Miss Baker caught at the beach!

Hi LZ6! I hope you are all enjoying your holidays! I have been at the beach visiting my family and went fishing with my cousin. We did not catch much but did get this BIG crab! I took a photo next to my hand so you can see how big it is...did NOT want to get snapped by his claws!

Turtle maths!

We are busy practising our basic facts to get better at adding and subtracting faster and faster! Some of us were playing Murtle's turtles where we have to find the answers to sums as fast as we can. First one to fill up the turtle correctly wins!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Today we had an Easter Egg hunt in the classroom. Some of us had to hide eggs and lolly worms (because we have been learning about bugs!) while the other children waited outside. When they were hidden the children had to try and find them. Then we swapped over so we all got a turn at hiding and finding. We felt excited and happy to be egg and worm hunters!!

Kelly Sports!

We were so lucky to have some coaches from Kelly Sport working with us at school yesterday. We had activities on the field and it was so much fun!

Happy birthday Jackson!

Yesterday was Jackson's birthday!
He brought in a cake to share with the class.

He also brought some funny pirate accessories! We all had
mustaches and eye patches to wear.

Look at Augustino - doesn't he look cool?!

Easter symmetry activity - just for fun!

Found this fun Easter egg designing activity on one of our favourite websites - click on the image to go to the link. You can make your own egg design and learn a little about symmetry at the same time! Symmetry is when one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide or turn it. The simplest form of symmetry is reflection or 'mirror' symmetry like this egg shows.

Our 25+ readers!

These super people are great readers and they are showing their certificates for reading over 25 books this term! Each day we check that we have read our books at home with Mum or Dad and that they have signed the notebook. The more we read the better we get!!

Look at our cushions!

Hannah and Melissa went to a sewing workshop as one of their ACE options this term and look what they made!! The cushions are beautifully made and look like they were bought from a shop! We were very impressed!

Online story book from tikatok.com

Tikatok.com is a website that helps you to create free online books. This is an example of one that was made by a child. I thought that LZ6 might like to make one to share all their information about bugs that they have learnt over term one. Watch out for it coming soon...

Japan Fundraiser!

On Friday MHP had a fundraiser for Japan after they suffered a huge earthquake and tsunami. We had sausages, samosas and candyfloss to buy as well as ribbons, face painting and paper cranes that each child had helped to make. It was a very busy and exciting day and we hope we made lots of money that can be sent to Japan to support people there.
